Manuscript Handling

Manuscripts submitted to FictionMark are processed by ERSA, LLC for analysis purposes only.

  • Full manuscript text is not retained after analysis is complete
  • Manuscripts are not published, shared, or resold by ERSA, LLC
  • Manuscripts are not used to train AI models

Diagnostic feedback may include brief excerpts to illustrate issues in context. These excerpts are limited in length and do not constitute storage of the manuscript.

Data Collected

ERSA, LLC may collect and store the following information:

  • Account information (such as email address and username)
  • Analysis results and metadata (scores, classifications, certification status)
  • Diagnostic indicators with short contextual excerpts
  • Usage data and access logs

Third-Party Service Providers

ERSA, LLC uses third-party service providers to operate FictionMark, including:

  • Payment Processing: Stripe processes payments on behalf of ERSA, LLC. ERSA, LLC does not store credit card details.
  • AI Analysis: OpenAI provides text analysis capabilities as a processor acting on behalf of ERSA, LLC.
  • Hosting: Cloud infrastructure providers host the Service on behalf of ERSA, LLC.

These third parties process data only as directed by ERSA, LLC and are contractually obligated to protect your information.

Data Use

ERSA, LLC uses collected data solely to:

  • Provide manuscript analysis and certification results
  • Maintain account functionality
  • Support certification verification
  • Improve the Service

Data is not sold or shared with third parties for marketing purposes.

Data Retention

Evaluation results may be retained by ERSA, LLC to support author access and certification verification. Authors may request deletion of their account and associated data by contacting us.

Use of Email for Optional Certification-Related Offers

If you provide an email address, FictionMark may use it to send limited, occasional communications about optional products or services that are directly related to your certification status.

These communications are sent only where permitted by applicable law and may be declined at any time. You may opt out using the unsubscribe link included in each message or through your account settings.

FictionMark does not use certification data or contact information for unrelated marketing purposes and does not share email addresses with unaffiliated third parties for marketing.

Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data. To exercise these rights, contact ERSA, LLC at FictionMark@proton.me.

Changes to This Policy

ERSA, LLC may update this Privacy Policy as the Service evolves. Changes will be posted with an updated effective date.
