For Authors

FictionMark provides an independent evaluation of your manuscript's technical and narrative reliability. The goal is clarity and consistency—not editorial rewriting or stylistic judgment.

What You Will Receive

  • A composite quality score (0–100)
  • A clear certification decision (Certified or Not Certified)
  • Readability analysis with grade-level context
  • Genre and audience classification
  • Content intensity ratings (sex, violence, language)
  • Private, author-only diagnostics highlighting issues and patterns

What Certification Means

If your manuscript passes FictionMark's minimum criteria, it will be Certified, and you will be granted authorization to display the FictionMark badge in your marketing and promotional materials.

Certification indicates that a manuscript meets FictionMark's baseline standards for readability, structure, and narrative continuity under a specific criteria version.

Certification does not indicate literary merit, commercial potential, genre preference, or critical acclaim.

Some well-written books will not certify. That does not make them invalid—only uncertified.

What to Expect

  • Certification is binary: Certified or Not Certified
  • Every paid analysis results in a certification decision
  • Scores and diagnostics are generated for every submission
  • Absolute disqualifiers may override numeric scores
  • Revisions require re-analysis

Each submission is evaluated independently. Revised manuscripts must be submitted as new analyses and are billed separately.

There are no subscriptions.
